I'm Cecilia, a Swedish interior designer & lampshade maker who has called Portugal home since the early 2000s.

I serve homeowners, investors, and anyone who wants to create a space that feels uniquely their own. Whether you're planning a full renovation, redesigning a kitchen, or furnishing a rental property, I'm here to help bring your vision to life. Or maybe you just want to get a stunning, unique lampshade made, specially for you!

My passion for transforming spaces started while working on board luxury cruise ships, where I was intrigued by how beautiful and functional a room could be, even with limited space.

This interest led me to enrol at Rhodec International Design School, where I earned my Associate Diploma with Distinction.

My career in the Algarve began at a leading interior design and property development company in Quinta do Lago, where I refined my skills in design and project planning.

My journey has also included founding a property management company and co-founding a painting business (Phil & Cecilia Property Services) with my husband, Phil. He often works alongside me, helping to bring our projects from concept to reality.

While I enjoy being hands-on—from lampshade making workshops and upholstery to painting and block-printing textiles, my greatest joy lies in the creative planning process and helping my customers' vision come to life. - This is why I founded Atelier Cecilia Martin.

My goal is to design spaces and create home decor that are not only beautiful but also deeply personal. I'm passionate about giving new life to old pieces, and in my spare time, I love rummaging through antique markets and salvage yards to find special items.
