I’m Cecilia, a Swedish lampshade maker & interior designer who has been fortunate to call Portugal home since the early 2000s. My passion for colour, pattern, and transforming spaces started at a very early age. That deep-seated interest eventually led me to enrol at Rhodec International Design School, where I earned my Associate Diploma in Interior Design & Decoration with Distinction.

My career in the Algarve began at a leading interior design and property development company in Quinta do Lago, where I refined my skills in design and project planning. My journey has also included co-founding a property management company and setting up a painting business (Phil & Cecilia Property Services) with my husband, Phil. He often works alongside me, helping to bring our projects from concept to reality, ensuring we offer comprehensive property services across the region.

Atelier Cecilia Martin was founded because, while I truly enjoy being hands-on—from lampshade making and upholstery to holding workshops—my greatest joy lies in the creative planning process and seeing my customers' vision realised. I'm passionately committed to sustainable design and giving new life to old pieces; in my spare time, I love rummaging through antique markets and salvage yards to find special items. My goal is to design spaces and create home decor that are not only beautiful but also sustainable and deeply personal.
